VVC Control


Where is it?

Located between the head and plenum adjacent to number one cylinder.


What is it?

The VVC control is a hydraulic system which, controlled by two solenoid valves, increases or decreases the amount of inlet cam period.


What's it for?

The VVC system allows the ECU to vary the inlet cam period depending on engine load and RPM. The ECU controls the VVC mech. using two Solenoid valves mounted on a “spool valve shaft” the spool valve in turn hydraulically controls a piston which is attached to a rack and pinion which in turn rotates the VVC units Phew! The two control solenoid valves are to increase (blue connector) or decrease (black connector) the inlet cam period.
